Baty Venture Plus CMMOur Baty Venture Plus co-ordinate measuring machine, (CMM), with high resolution CCD camera was purchased in the 3rd quarter of 2009 to provide Cirrus Laser with a rapid method of checking laser and water jet cut components to a much higher level of accuracy than was previously available to the company. Many customers now require First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) or we have multiple tolerances on components requiring better methods of measurement than conventional instruments such as micrometers, verniers, digital height gauges and radius gauges.

In many instances components at Cirrus Laser are manufactured from thin shim materials, such as stator laminates, using 0.35mm thick high electrical resistivity Fe-Co material. Because of the complexity and fragility of the components conventional measuring even with a touch probe CMM is not viable. However, with the Venture Plus high-resolution camera CMM there is no contact with the component and we are able to accurately check all linear dimensions, radii and tolerances.

The CMM can be used for reverse engineering existing parts such as cylinder head gaskets and hand cut templates.
